The Palm Beaches... So Much More Than A Golfer's Paradise!

I am a proud Florida girl. I absolutely love this place and pretty much everything about it. I love the beaches, the weather, the heat, and the palm trees. I love playing golf year round and not having to worry about cold weather and snow! I moved to Palm Beach County two years ago (after spending five cold years in New Jersey) and it has everything the Fit Golfer Girl could ask for: Golf and lots of fun things to do.  Palm Beach County is home to over 160 golf courses and it’s known as “Florida’s Golf Capital”. It’s also home to iconic golfers such as Ricky Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods! Clearly I picked the perfect place to live!

Whether you are a Florida resident or looking for a fun golf vacation destination, Palm Beach County should be on your bucket list. Only in the Palm Beaches can you play a round of golf right by the ocean at the Breakers Ocean Course, play one of the multiple golf courses at the PGA National Resort, go shopping where celebrities and socialites do on Worth Avenue, run into a professional golfer at the grocery store, and go alligator watching on an airboat at the Everglades.

If you are traveling with your family, there are plenty of fun activities for your kids and non-golfing significant others too! In fact, if you are looking to pamper your significant other and yourself, October is Spa and Wellness Month in Palm Beach County. During “Spatober” you will find incredible deals in the finest spas and resorts in the area at a fraction of the regular price. All participating businesses will donate part of their proceeds to the American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, so you will be helping a great cause while taking the fun and relaxing vacation you deserve.

I am very familiar with the golf scene in the Palm Beaches, but last month Discover the Palm Beaches invited me to participate in a full blown Spa Day.  Since all I ever do is golf and workout, I was thrilled to experience a side of Palm Beach County I had never experienced before. I swapped my tights and tank tops for a beachy dress and headed to the Hilton West Palm Beach hotel in Downtown West Palm Beach. After meeting Dani (@daniknowsbetter), Emily (@thehipsuburban), and Amanda (@afancyaffair) the fun began!

It all started with mimosas and bloody marys by the pool on a beautiful sunny day! I learned that every Sunday, the Hilton WPB kicks off the day with a relaxing morning yoga class, followed by brunch and then an awesome pool party that lasts all day. Can’t wait to come back and experience this fun day with my friends!

After “hydrating” we headed over to the Cosmo and Company Salon and Spa to get pampered! Cosmo DiSchino opened the doors to his salon 28 years ago and he has been making people beautiful since then. I was thrilled to meet him when we walked in the door. Minutes later, the pampering started. I got a Silk Peel Facial that left my skin feeling glowing and refreshed. In a nutshell, this peel involved a gentle non-invasive exfoliation, followed by the infusion of a solution to revitalize the skin. A mani-pedis, hair trims, blowouts and full makeup applications later we were all glammed up and ready for a bite to eat.

Our next stop was Cabo Flats in West Palm Beach where they had the most amazing spread of appetizers and some delicious skinny margaritas waiting for us!

Knowing we had a boat to catch, we got our dinners to go and headed to the pier where we boarded the Hakuna Matata, for a super laid back and fun sunset cruise. We got to enjoy our delicious dinners while enjoying the weather, the incredible sunset views, and each other's company!

Before we knew it, it was time to head back to the hotel. My suite at the Hilton WPB was incredible. Super modern and big! Without a doubt, the perfect place to rest and relax during my mini staycation, and hopefully your Florida vacation!

The next morning I headed down to grab some brunch with Amanda and Gerri from Discover the Palm Beaches. The food at The Manor restaurant inside the hotel was delicious! It was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible experience.
